A clip from the Weather Channel has gotten a lot of attention today for the way the channel is informing viewers about the dangers of storm surge as Hurricane Florence hits.
Meteorologist Erika Navarro explained that “storm surge is going to be potentially life-threatening” and said it could reach up to six feet on part of the North Carolina coast, potentially higher in areas close to rivers.
But in addition to explaining how life-threatening this is, the Weather Channel visualized it with some alarming graphics illustrating the danger when the water level is at six or even nine feet.
