North Carolina man rides out Hurricane Florence in Cincinnati

Jackson Ertel said he almost ran out of gas as he was evacuating ahead of Hurricane Florence. Ertel, who attends the University of North Carolina Wilmington, lives about a mile from the beach, but luckily he has a second home in Morrow to ride out the storm. Hurricane Florence has weakened to a Category 2 storm over the Atlantic with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph -- but the size of its wind field has increased, the National Hurricane Center says. Still, North Carolina authorities went door to door with a loudspeaker, warning people to get out.
