Rumble The controversy surrounding NFL players taking a knee has been brought back to the forefront of the national conversation. The Nike ad featuring Colin Kaepernick has only served to further entrench the two sides of the debate.

MRCTV Managing Editor, Brittany Hughes, took issue with Kaepernick and his fellow NFL athletes’ protest of taking a knee during the National Anthem in order to speak out against police brutality and other systemic abuses.

This video, although from last year, still rings as relevant as ever.

Hughes herself is a military wife, and shares that she didn’t have a free weekend to throw ‘temper tantrums,’ because she and her family were preparing for her husband to deploy to protect our freedom.
