Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, recently took to X to decry the way that Colombian and Brazilian citizens were being repatriated by the US. After the post, he publicly refused to take in his citizens, due to the fact that they were being brought in on a military transport plane. He also referenced the fact that they were being handcuffed and shackled as part of his rebuke of president Trump. Petro Lambasted the treatment, likening it to that of criminals, despite the fact that the Colombians being repatriated, are, in fact, criminals. He capitulated after threats of a trade war, as well as the revocation of visas for Colombian officials and other Colombian citizens.
