Amazon snake catches prey and swallows it alive!

We were staying at a holiday lodge in the Amazon in Brazil. We were resting in the bungalow (it was very hot!) when we heard something rustling in the fallen leaves outside. I went to investigate (following the noise) and saw a movement in the leaves. At first I did not spot the snake because it was part of the background. I could not believe how long it was! .. probably about 2.5 meters long, but quite slender. It was so busy with its prey that I was not really afraid of it. It was fascinating to watch it swallow its prey while it was still squirming!
