Shiver

This is a winter poem, with a crispy crackling wintry electronic backdrop.
I suppose that makes this sort of ASMR, but also ambient and kind of electro pop, so as usual I’m not really targeting a specific genre rather just experimenting with sounds as I enjoy doing.
I wanted to evoke the crisp freshness of an icy cold winters day , somewhere in the northern hemisphere…
The lyrics are below, and it is more of a poem than a song I suppose.
For a visual background I have used footage filmed at different times in different places including Scotland, Lithuania and Latvia , which I found to be particularly cold !
I would have loved to make an animated video for this song but alas I don’t have those skills or resources, I did use runway ai to animate my frozen ice blocks of text at the beginning, and the shot of the lake was also just a still image, perhaps in the future I will be able to get access to the paid version as I am sure I could create some beautiful pieces to illustrate my words.
As always I have written and produced everything myself, so any constructive feedback is welcome ,although hardly anyone ever leaves a comment !

SHIVER
(Spiky shadows of winter )

Tiptoe over
The Shimmering glitter .
Always careful not to slip !
Brittle bushes and branches
Cast spiky shadows
of Winter

Watch as breaths curl ,
and whisper away
Shivering into
a new winters day
Fresh..
Clean..
As the icy air
Seems to be
Passing through me

Filtering my soul
Let me rise into the air

Shiver
Watching the pale skies fading light
No clouds from snow to fall
Only stars tonight as darkness unfolds
Crystals form on the glass

Sleeping trees
Untroubled by the arctic breeze
Take this time to hibernate .
It’s already dark, but not too late .
Dogs and cats and people
Peer out from cosy houses
Sheltered from the freeze .

Shiver
until the world turns
and tilts again
Into the glow of the generous sun
Awakening the land
As Springtime comes
And it always comes.
