This is the adorable flock of baby flamingos being hand-reared in Scotland and fed with a syringe - before their distinctive pink colouring develops. The nine tiny chicks, which were hatched from a flock at Chester Zoo, eat a liquid diet every two hours - fed to them with a syringe. Creating a new flock of Chilean flamingos is said to be "virtually unheard of". Enthusiasts Mark Haillay and Owen Joiner were behind the project, Bird Gardens Scotland, in Oxton, Scottish Borders where the birds are being cared for.
