Revelation 8:1 and 8:2 describe the opening of the seventh seal, announcing a chain of prophetical events and outcomes. The silence in heaven for half an hour is a period of peace and expectation, as no complaints are sent to the ear of God. The angels, equipped with materials and instructions from God, are employed as the wise and willing instruments of divine Providence.

Another angel, with a golden censer, is given incense to offer with the prayers of all saints on the golden altar. The smoke of the incense, along with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God. The angel then filled the censer with fire and cast it into the earth, causing voices, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.

The angels prepare to sound the trumpets, demonstrating that times of danger and great expectation should be praying times. The angels are equipped with the materials and instructions from God, and they are employed as the wise and willing instruments of divine Providence.
