Episode 542: God's prescription for deliverance from temptations and help in trials. Part 1

Hello everyone. In today's Bible study we continue our examination of the soul through the eyes of God's word.

What does the scriptures declare about the human soul?
What does the scriptures declare about the believer's soul?
What does the scriptures declare about the believer's soul during seasons of temptations and the storms of life?
What does the scriptures declare about the believer's soul during seasons of trials and testing?

Would someone please tell me where God is when all these things are present in my life!!!

Why Lord? Why me? Why do I have to go through these things?!!

Wow, these are legitimate questions that believers inquire of God on a daily basis. We all want to know the answer to these questions.

Is there answers in the word of God that will satisfy me? Yes and no.

What? Yes and no.

Yes, when you personally understand God as He is described and has spoken in His word, that is the scriptures.

No, when you use your own interpretation of God's word when you read, study, and apply God's word to your life. This is the most common error made by believers and unbelievers alike.

They tend to read God's word with their preconceived beliefs allowing their interpretations of what the scriptures mean be their truth instead of allowing the scriptures to define scriptures as The Truth.

STOP IT! Let the scriptures define all the words of scriptures. For example, most times when the scriptures uses the word "death" it is referring to the 2nd death called outer darkness where there is a lake of fire into which all unbeliever sinners will live forever.

If YOU DEFINE death as the human body dying then your understanding of the scriptures will be incorrect regarding everything God means concerning "death".

What does that have to do with my soul? Oh my friend, it means everything because your understanding of God resides in your soul as well as your obedience to that understanding. Therefore if your understanding of God's word is incorrect, it will be impossible for you to live in accordance with God's godliness. You will live in accordance with your own standard of godliness which is not the Lord's hence everything that results will be sinful.
