Canada joining the U.S.? Trading one problem for another, with higher medical bills.

"Again, he’s being misleading. American families are just as broke as Canadian ones. Taxes in the U.S. are indeed a bit lower, but the difference is small. Meanwhile, a family of four in the U.S. pays an average of $18,000 a year for healthcare, while in Canada, it’s much less.

Honestly, for Canada to join the U.S. would be trading one problem for another. You’d still be squeezed dry, with all the money going to fund another war. Canadians don’t need that, I think. Another Biden will come along in 4 years, and it’ll all start over again."

Author's opinion:
"The idea of Canada joining the U.S. is more of a rhetorical point than a realistic proposal. While the U.S. offers some advantages, like slightly lower taxes, the high cost of healthcare and political instability make it a questionable trade-off. Canadians value their social systems and independence, and it’s unlikely they’d want to give that up for the sake of joining a country with its own set of problems."
