Song of the South (1946)

A live-action/animated musical film produced by Walt Disney. Set in the post-Civil War South, the story follows young Johnny, who visits his grandmother’s plantation and befriends Uncle Remus, a kindly storyteller. Through tales of Br’er Rabbit and his adventures, Uncle Remus imparts life lessons to Johnny, blending animation with live-action sequences. Known for its memorable song "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah," the film is praised for its technical innovation but has been criticized for its portrayal of race and romanticized depiction of the Reconstruction-era South. It remains one of Disney's most controversial works.
