Forest Escape No Water and What that Really Means, Getting Wood, Gunner Plays and Chews a Lot

In the forest escape it has been cold, a sustained cold with ice and snow and low temperatures so that means the Pex water lines in the driveway droze for the first time ever! No water means showers at our oldest son's and daughter-in-law's house. We had dinner at their house and took a blanket in the gator, to be warm - like we were in horse and buggy days!! No running water means getting buckets and jugs of water, from the supply hydrant 1,000 feet away, to wash dishes by hand, feed pets, and to flush toilets. Wood has to come in the house. The gator gets tarped and untarped a million times! The electric outlets in the kitchen stopped working and an extension cord allows the microwave to run. Two little room heaters for supplemental heat burned up and needed to be replaced. We have to concentrate on what we have, not what we don't have. Thanking God for what we have daily! Gunner is our new Silver Lab and he is one of our little bright spots!
