Trump plans executive order to halt gain of function research funding

Amid a series of executive orders, President Donald Trump is preparing to temporarily halt funding for gain of function research, a type of scientific study that has drawn increased scrutiny since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was a disease so deadly it’s now blamed for the death of three million people in the first year alone.
