UNIT The Road (for Dick Heckstall Smith).

This is a track from the EP given away free with our 52nd album ‘Science & Sanity’. We recorded an earlier version of this in 2018 for the album Media Morte In Vita Sumus but we decided we could improve upon it...so we did. Part of the music is by saxophonist Dick Heckstall Smith (The Road I Walked Before on the first album by Colosseum of which he was a founder member). Ms Nakagawa is the girlfriend of Akira Ishii who occasionally adds woodwind parts to our tracks. Akira was a member of UNIT from 1998 to 1999.

Once I used to cry so easily;
then one day I saw humanity
in all its evil and iniquity.
So I sat down with a cup of tea;
soon, I saw the picture finally.
No, I did not like what I could see.
Now, I never had a family,
but it’s true that never bothered me
since I have my friends for company.
Yes, that’s really quite enough for me.
