This groovy jazz-rock music deserves a much better lyric than the daft nonsense I sing here but we were asked to provide a ‘pop ballad type love song’ for an American compilation album...that, typically, never materialised...which explains the existence of this ridiculous twaddle although probably does not excuse it.

You’ve given me a reason for never giving in,
even though I’ll have to fight, but I intend to win;
under your direction I can hardly lose my way,
not that I am ever lost with you here, anyway,
given that when you’re with me, you lighten up my day.

Such a night as this causes chaos and concern
any way I look at it, which ever way I turn,
not that I could now prevent what surely must ensue.
Many silent nights alone, awake, obsessed with you –
altogether this has been a quite bizarre affair,
nonetheless can I just say I’m so glad you are there?
