The Passions were a British-Irish post-punk/new wave band which formed in 1978 and disbanded in 1983. The Passions' music was grounded mainly in Barbara Gogan's voice and Clive Timperley's delicate Echoplex guitar work. This haunting single, 'I'm in Love with a German Filmstar' was released in 1981 and manages to encapsulate that era.

The late 70's and early 80's produced some of the World's most unforgettable female artists like Kate Bush, Debbie Harry, Chrissie Hynde, Grace Jones, Martha & The Muffins, Siouxsie Sioux, Basia, Kim Wilde, Lene Lovich, Gloria Estefan and of course Barbara Gogan just to name a few.
