President Donald Trump signed an executive order releasing additional government files related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, former Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.

A federal judge in Seattle temporarily blocked Trump’s executive order limiting birthright citizenship. The judge ruled the order unconstitutional after hearing a challenge from four Democrat-led states.

John Ratcliffe was sworn in as CIA director on Thursday after the Senate voted 74–25 to confirm him. This marks Trump’s second nominee to win Senate approval.

A new wildfire, known as the Hughes Fire, broke out north of Los Angeles, forcing around 50,000 residents to evacuate. This occurred as California lawmakers approved a $2.5 billion relief package for the fires.
