You can not go against nature. Despite all our toys: mobile phones, gadgets, social networks, etc., despite the fact that a now people can turn the world upside down to get what they want, it still does not give them either peace of mind or absolute control over nature. The Perito Moreno Glacier is a part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field located in the Andes mountains that Argentina and Chile share together. It is located in the Los Glaciares National Park. It is one of the most important tourist attractions in the Argentinian Patagonia.

Unlike other glaciers, this one is advancing and that makes it a fascination for geologists. The rupture of the dam is a process that happens every once in awhile. It is completely normal and it happens almost every four to five years. The terminus of the Perito Moreno Glacier is 5 km (3.1 mi) wide, with an average height of 74 m (240 ft) above the surface of the water of Argentino Lake, in Argentina. It has a total ice depth of 170 meters (558 ft). The glacier was named Perito Moreno after Argentinian explorer Francisco Moreno, a pioneer who studied the region in the 19th century and played a major role in defending the territory of Argentina in the conflict surrounding the international border dispute with Chile.
