Can Steven Nelson Pull Off The Upset Versus Diego Pacheco?

At 36 years old, Steven Nelson wants to do what many don't think he can. And, that's pulling off the upset against hard-hitting Super Middleweight Diego Pacheco.

The problem is Pacheco's size. He's 6'4" with a 79" arm reach. He has a 7-inch height advantage and a 4-inch reach advantage over So Cold Steve Nelson. No one has seen what Nelson can do at this level.

David Benavidez Sr trains Pacheco. He's sparred with David Benavidez and Canelo Alvarez. That level of experience in sparring can go a long way. Steve Nelson is 36 years old but has no wear and tear.

Pacheco has a dam good jab and a mean right cross. However, Pacheco hasn't fought anyone on his level. Steven Nelson is trained by team Crawford's very own Bomac.

Both men have a high knockout ratio thus far. DraftKings has Diego Pacheco a -400 favorite over Steve So Cold Nelson. Steve is a +300 underdog in this bout.

On paper, it's hard to see how Steve can win this bout. Both men can crack. If Steve can break Pacheco down to the body, to set up the right hand to the top, he has a shot at pulling off the upset.

Pacheco just has to be patient, and let the fight come to him. He has to control the distance and range to set up the right hand. If he can do that, it should be an easy night for him.

On the undercard, we have Andy Cruz vs Omar Salcido. Andy is trained by Derek Bozy Ennis. Omar is a tough Mexican fighter from Sonora, Mexico. I expect this fight to be a banger.
