THE POWER OF THE SOUL- WHY GOD GAVE US FREE WILL

Then the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath or spirit of life, and man became a living being. ( Gen2:7)AMP
The King James Bible tells us that man became a living soul. According to our understanding, the soul, part of mankind, is our mind, Will, and emotions.
With the soul, we contact the world around us. We take in the beauty and the pain of the life we live in the physical world.
God created this part of us, called the soul, as a contact point to the spirit. The soul is between our body and spirit, making up who we are. Spirit, soul, and body. First Thessalonians 5:23.
It's in the soul that we have free will, and God gave that to us so that we could love him with all of our heart, strength, and might.
Without free will, we would not be godlike; after all, we are made in his image with his character traits.
In Genesis, in the first chapter, God said, let us make man in our own image. In this setting, he was talking to his counsel, called the sons of God. These heavenly sons also have free will, so they love God freely.
God gave us the power of choice so that we can choose righteousness through Jesus Christ. God challenged the Old Testament people to choose whom they would serve this day. If God be God, choose him; if Bale be God choose him.
Jesus, in his journey through his human experience, also had a choice because of humanity's free will. Jesus was not murdered on the cross. He gave himself freely because his soul had the ability to choose the right path.
Nancy Reagan told us years ago to say no to dope addictions that were ravishing the nation at that time. The human spirit has the ability to stand against evil because that's the nature God gave us. That's part of the soul life.
The amazing gift of a Holy Spirit that God gave us now lives within us to Shepherd, guide, and protect the dynamics of the soul so that we become faithful servants well pleasing to our heavenly father.
