- **Food color (orange or yellow)**: A pinch
- **Water**: As needed (to make a thick, flowing batter)
**For Sugar Syrup:**
- **Sugar**: 1 cup
- **Water**: 1/2 cup
- **Cardamom powder**: 1/4 teaspoon
- **Lemon juice**: 1/2 teaspoon
- **Saffron strands**: A pinch (optional)
**For Frying:**
- **Ghee or oil**: For deep frying

### Instructions:
1. **Prepare Sugar Syrup:**
- In a pan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 5-7 minutes until it forms a one-string consistency.
- Add cardamom powder, saffron strands (if using), and lemon juice. Keep the syrup warm.
2. **Make the Batter:**
- In a bowl, mix all-purpose flour, cornflour, yogurt, baking powder, and food color.
- Gradually add water and whisk until the batter is smooth and of a thick flowing consistency.
3. **Heat the Oil:**
- Heat ghee or oil in a deep frying pan on medium heat. Ensure the oil is moderately hot.
4. **Pipe the Jalebis:**
- Pour the batter into a piping bag or squeeze bottle with a small round nozzle.
- Squeeze the batter into the hot oil in spiral shapes. Fry until golden and crisp on both sides.
5. **Dip in Syrup:**
- Immediately transfer the hot jalebis to the warm sugar syrup. Let them soak for 1-2 minutes.
6. **Serve Hot:**
- Remove from the syrup and serve warm with your favorite Ramadan drinks or tea.
