Michael Fish's NBC26 Storm Shield weather forecast

A cold front will be slowly pushing through the area and moving southeast as we head through today. We'll start off with occasional showers or maybe a few rumbles of thunder, but those should be tapering off from the northwest as we head through the afternoon. Some folks may even start to see some peeks at the sun the farther you live to the northwest. Highs will only top out in the low/mid-70s. Tonight, if there is a lingering early evening shower to the southeast, that's going to end, and then the skies are going to clear out. Overnight lows will be much more comfortable with readings around 50, and even cooler to the north. Pleasant weather returns for Thursday & Friday with plenty of sunshine and highs in the low-70s. As of right now, most computer models are keeping the remnants of the tropical system Gordon to our south for the weekend. That means we most likely will keep things dry and comfortable with highs in the low- to mid-70s. That would mean it will be a great weekend to do things outside!
