Tampa Bay's Ryne Stanek became the first rookie pitcher in 75 years to start consecutive games -- throwing one inning for the second straight day. Stanek combined with six relievers on a three-hitter in Tampa Bay's 4-0 victory over Toronto on Tuesday night, which extended the Rays' winning streak to four. Tampa Bay has held Toronto to five hits or fewer in seven consecutive meetings, matching the longest streak in the majors since 1920. The Baltimore Orioles did it to the Washington Senators from Sept. 11, 1968, to April 18, 1969, according to STATS.
