1-19-2025 | Christlikeness Series - Part 4, God's Purpose VS Man's Perception

This Sunday, Mike McClung shared a message from the Christlikeness series, called “God's Purpose vs. Man's Perception.” In John 17:22-26, Jesus prayed that God's ultimate purpose for us would come to pass, and our true calling would be fulfilled. Is this a prayer for more apostles, prophets or teachers to emerge? NO!The Modern American Church teaches that the aim of God's work is our personal benefit, and we are successful when we do a lot for God. From God's viewpoint, the Body of Christ is most "successful" only through a greater conformity to Christlikeness, and His purpose of exalting His Son. Through submission to His discipline and growth in relationship, we enter into deeper fellowship with Him and He is more "successful" through us.
