This is a track from School Playground, our 31st album, recorded in 2016. Text and music by Andy Martin. Karen is the elder sister of Eric Cooper, the boss of our group in Amery Hill School. It was Karen who initially took charge of the self defence classes held every Saturday morning near the old abbey on Kings Hill, Beech, Hampshire. Eric was the hardest boy in our school...but even he was no match for Karen! Note: we recorded a superior version of this number in 2024 as a bonus track for Science & Sanity, our 52ndd album.
