Cars is quite literally about the death of the American dream, and weaponizing nostalgia against Americans in particular. It revolves around middle-American hillbilly culture, bringing yet another demographic directly into the Disney fold.

Also, it's perhaps one of the better Disney movies I've ever seen, which I didn't expect. It might even be in my top 10.
