The upgraded version of the Kh-35U was equipped with the latest active-passive radar system "Грань-К", which was hardware-software adapted to the selection of ground-based radio-contrast and radio-emitting targets. Moreover, it was equipped with an advanced inertial navigation system wich also made use of GLONASS-correction module.

Furthermore, in the terminal sections of the trajectory the Kh-35U, is able to implement the "slide" mode with dive angles of about 80 degrees, overcoming the angular sectors of view of the radar illumination of enemy SAMs, previously rising to ascending sections near the "dead zones" of SAMs, to then fatally drop on them.
