Pulsed Field Ablation - My Experience With A New Treatment For AFIB

I recently had a catheter ablation to treat Atrial Fibrillation. The type of ablation I received is called a Pulsed Field Ablation, a procedure that was recently approved for use in the United States.

I'll be going over what pulsed field ablation is, how a pulsed field ablation is performed, how PFA compares to RF ablation or Cryo Ablation, how long the pulsed field ablation it took, how I felt after, and what the recovery is like. I'll also talk about a few things they used in this procedure - the Boston Scientific Farapulse, and the Octaray mapping catheter.

I'll talk a little more about AFIB and Ectopic heartbeats as well.

My procedure was performed by Dr. Fowler at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue, Washington. They are an incredible hospital with a fantastic team!
