Netflix's brand new mini-series, American Primeval, dropped last week, and this is unexpectedly good.

The six-part series is written by Mark L. Smith and is directed by Peter Berg that premiered on Netflix in January 2025. Set in 1857 during the Utah War, the series examines the fight to gain control of the American West and the sometimes violent clash between religion, government, and culture in the Utah landscape. The series is inspired by real events, documented experiences, and the Mountain Meadows Massacre.
