TWD Dead City Season 1 Episodes 1 and 2 Initial Thoughts from Misha

The Walking Dead: Dead City opens with Maggie reluctantly teaming up with Negan to save her kidnapped son, Hershel, who’s been taken to Manhattan—a city that’s been isolated and crawling with walkers since the apocalypse hit. Together, they venture into this crumbling urban hellscape, dodging falling corpses, a relentless Marshal named Perlie Armstrong chasing after Negan, and the Croat—a sadistic villain who kidnapped Hershel and happens to be an old associate of Negan’s.

Awkward.

Along the way, Maggie and Negan cross paths with a scrappy group of survivors led by Tommaso and Amaia. After fending off an ambush from the Croat’s Burazi soldiers, they manage to earn the group’s trust and secure some much-needed backup. Meanwhile, Ginny, the mute girl under Negan’s wing, struggles to fit into Maggie’s community and bolts for Manhattan on her own.
