Guilt Is A Big Green Blob

Did you ever have one of those moments when you and a friend are each invited to a party? Then you both decide that you’re “not feeling it” and don’t go?
You say to yourself, “I feel guilty!”
You say to your friend, “Hey, don’t you feel guilty?”
And she says “No, absolutely not? Why would I?”
And so I reflect, we’re both doing the exact same behavior with saying no to a party, but one of us feels guilt and the other one feels no guilt. This got me thinking, perhaps guilt really is a state of mind? And maybe not the best state of mind for me to hold onto!
It got me thinking that Guilt is like a big ugly green blob — an uninvited guest and it’s time to think a new way….examine God’s way…
First, let me say there is healthy guilt. When you do something that you know is wrong and you perhaps do it on purpose then guilt is a good emotion.
But I’m finding in today’s society, perhaps it has become a recommended way of life, especially, for the folks that think they need to sacrifice their life for others.

I am finding that Guilt is stopping me from being completely connected to God and a sovereign free human. Guilt encourages me to “Edge God Out” and get into EGO.
I am not responsible for other peoples’ feelings and thoughts, which my friend was quick to remind me. There really is freedom in this.
With Guilt in charge I live my life in a wimpy way…. Shrinking in who God created me to be. Without the big blob heavy Guilt I now have:
Freedom
Clear mind
Discernment and A Steadfast pure heart in communion with God.
Ahh…. Much better! Listen in and let me know what you think. Blessings!!
