Dear Rumble Development Team,
Feature Request: Bulk Edit for VODs
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to you as an active creator on Rumble, and I want to share a feature suggestion that I believe would significantly enhance the user experience for content creators like myself, as well as many others in our community.
The Issue: Currently, managing individual videos, especially when changing privacy settings or categorizing them, is quite labor-intensive. It takes six clicks to make a single video private, which becomes exceedingly time-consuming when dealing with dozens, if not hundreds, of videos. This process is not only inefficient but also somewhat discouraging for content management on a larger scale.
The Proposal: We propose the introduction of a Bulk Edit feature for the VODs listing. Here’s how it could work:
Checkbox Selection: Add a checkbox next to each video in the listing. This would allow creators to select multiple videos at once for editing.
Select All Option: Include a “Select All” checkbox at the top of the list or as a button, enabling creators to select all videos on the current page or across all pages if pagination is in use.
Bulk Edit Dropdown: Implement a dropdown menu with options such as:
“Make Private”
“Make Public”
“Assign to Channel”
“Delete”
“Add/Remove Tags”
Other settings that could apply to multiple videos simultaneously
This feature would drastically reduce the time and effort required for managing video content, particularly for creators who produce a high volume of videos. It would streamline our workflow, allowing us to focus more on content creation rather than administrative tasks.
Benefits:
Efficiency: Reduce the number of clicks from six to potentially one per action for multiple videos.
User Experience: Improve creator satisfaction by simplifying content management, potentially leading to increased content production and engagement on the platform.
Scalability: Help creators manage their growing libraries of content as they scale.
Community Support: This feature has been discussed among several creators, and there is a unanimous agreement on the necessity and benefits it would bring. The feedback from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, indicating that this feature would be widely used and appreciated.
Implementation Considerations: We understand that adding new features requires careful planning and resources. Here are some considerations:
Ensure the feature is intuitive and user-friendly.
Possibly include confirmation dialogues for bulk actions to prevent accidental changes.
Consider performance impacts and optimize for large sets of videos.
Thank you for considering this feature request. We believe that adding a bulk edit function would not only enhance our experience on Rumble but also contribute to the platform’s growth by encouraging more creators to engage deeply with their content management.
Looking forward to your response and hoping to see this feature implemented soon.
Best regards,
rumble creators
