New York State will spend $850,000 to support local fairs. The money will be provided by the state government.

$350,000 will be used for transportation and other resources to help youth attend fairs. Organizations that help youth attend fairs can apply for up to $25,000.

$500,000 will be used to advertise fairs. Companies that promote fairs can apply for $10,000.

These two funding opportunities were announced by New York State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball.

“Our county and local fairs are so important to New York's agricultural industry, serving as community centerpieces that educate the public about the importance of this critical industry,” said Richard A. Ball.
