The Quran explicitly acknowledges the authority and authenticity of the Bible, affirming its status as divine revelation. In Surah Al-Ma'idah 5:46, it states: "Then in the footsteps of the prophets, We sent Jesus, son of Mary, confirming the Torah revealed before him. And We gave him the Gospel containing guidance and light and confirming what was revealed in the Torah—a guide and a lesson to the God-fearing."

This verse unequivocally confirms the Torah and the Gospel as sources of guidance and light.

Furthermore, Surah Al-Imran 3:3 declares: "It is He Who sent down to thee (step by step), in truth, the Book, confirming what went before it; and He sent down the Law (of Moses) and the Gospel (of Jesus) before this, as a guide to mankind."

This affirmation underscores the Quran's role in validating the previous scriptures.

Additionally, Surah Yunus 10:94 advises: "If thou wert in doubt as to what We have revealed unto thee, then ask those who have been reading the Book from before thee: the Truth hath indeed come to thee from thy Lord: so be in no wise of those in doubt."

This directive implies the reliability of earlier scriptures and their followers.

Despite these affirmations, the Quran's later assertions of textual corruption in the Bible lack historical and textual substantiation. The Bible's consistency and preservation over millennia stand as a testament to its unaltered transmission. Therefore, the Quran's initial recognition of the Bible's authenticity should be acknowledged as the more credible stance.
