I had the pleasure of sitting down with Alissa aka shebereadinthembooks and discuss Black Book Tok, advocacy, and the fate of literacy and our children. Our engaging conversation shows us that there is no certain mold for readers to fit into and that we can celebrate Sci-fi, fantasy, and BIPOC all at the same time!

Alissa won last year’s AAMBC (African American On The Move Book Club) Literary Activist Of The Year award, but she doesn’t let that go to her head. Alissa says that she's just out here talking about what she likes to talk about and bringing us all along on the ride!! Her vibe is like your funny, down to earth, best buddy or cousin.
