Rep. James Comer: SHOW UP Act will require federal employees to return to work

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) says yesterday he reintroduced the Stopping Home Office Work’s Unproductive Problems (SHOW UP) Act in order to return DC employees to their pre-pandemic office hours. “What’s happened in the name of COVID, the federal employees took advantage of the situation—especially under the Biden administration—and they just kept expanding telework to the point to where now well over half the federal employees aren’t even coming to work,” he says. Rep. Comer also notes that crime, homelessness, and business closures in DC have increased since teleworking took off.
