Misha the Turtle Joins the Wolf Pack… 🐺

Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man (2025) aims to revitalize the werewolf mythos with a mix of body horror, atmospheric tension, and modern themes, but it stumbles in execution.

The story follows Blake, a struggling writer who inherits his childhood home in rural Oregon, where an encounter with a wolf-like creature triggers a monstrous transformation.

While Christopher Abbott gives a strong performance as the tormented Blake, the supporting cast—especially Julia Garner—suffers from underwritten roles.

Visually, the film impresses with stunning cinematography and grotesque practical effects, but its uneven pacing and half-baked exploration of generational trauma leave the experience feeling hollow.

It’s a stylish horror flick with some standout moments but lacks the emotional depth or narrative punch to truly resonate.

3 out of 5 Shells 🐢, but still worth seeing in theaters thanks to stellar audio production.
