17-Year-Old Who Killed His Father Gets Bonded Out By His Mom Who He Then Killed As Well

Posted • January 16, 2025: 17-year-old accused of killing his mother after she bailed him out for killing his father warned Florida deputies months before the crime. Collin Griffith, 17, moved in with his mother Catherine Griffith, 39, after she posted his bond. He had been serving time for killing his father, Charles Griffith, 43, on Valentine's Day 2023. Collin claimed self-defense and prosecutors released him after they could not disprove his story that his father pulled a knife on him and chased him. Jail staff reported that Collin threatened to kill his mother if he had to get in a car with her. Catherine Griffith was killed on September 8, 2024. Collin called the police saying his mother fell on a knife during an argument.
