I had a debrief with Lieutenant General Rod Bishop about the hearing for Pete's Hegseth's nomination to be the next Secretary of Defense, the very bracing message that he imparted of returning the warrior ethos to our military, and some of the disappointing criticism to which he was subjected, much of it defamatory and unwarranted. We also talked about what is needed now as Pete, we hope, assumes the leadership of the Pentagon to right the ship of our armed forces at a moment when possible war with China looms ever larger.

I spoke with Jonathan Tobin about the ceasefire deal that has been foisted upon Benjamin Netanyahu to the grave detriment of not only Israel, but also to the incoming Donald Trump presidency and of course, our country as well. The deal would effectively give Hamas a victory over Israel, which is not in the interest of any of those parties and likely to conduce to more war, not a cessation of it across the region.
