Paul Danan, Actor and Reality Star Known for ‘Hollyoaks,’ Dies at 46

Paul Danan, the British actor and reality TV star best known for his role as Sol Patrick on the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, has passed away at the age of 46. The news was confirmed by his representatives at Independent Creative Management, who described him as a "beacon of light" in an Instagram statement.

Danan rose to fame as a teenager on Hollyoaks (1997–2001) and also appeared in children’s shows like The Queen’s Nose and The Basil Brush Show, as well as the medical drama Casualty. Later, he became a staple of British reality TV, participating in Celebrity Love Island, Celebrity Big Brother, and Come Dine With Me.

In a 2023 interview with The Sun, Danan revealed he had suffered a near-fatal health scare linked to his vaping addiction. He described collapsing at home, requiring CPR and intensive care for respiratory failure and pneumonia. "I’m so lucky,” he said, reflecting on the ordeal.

Danan is survived by his 8-year-old son, Deniro. His representatives have requested privacy for his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
