Taiwan will enhance surveillance and inspection of foreign-flagged ships after a Chinese-linked cargo vessel allegedly damaged an undersea communication cable.

Authorities plan to board suspicious vessels near sensitive areas and strengthen monitoring of undersea cables and landing points.
