An employee reportedly fired shots during a smash-and-grab attempt Thursday morning. Police say someone crashed a vehicle into Motor City Pawn Brokers on Gratiot near I-696 just before 5:30 a.m. The vehicle, believed to be a pickup truck, broke through the glass and pushed the metal security screen into the display area of the store.
