- **Garam masala powder**: ½ tsp
- **Kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)**: 1 tsp
- **Fresh coriander leaves**: For garnish

### **Instructions**
1. **Boil the Dal**
- Wash the lentils thoroughly and soak them for at least 30 minutes.
- In a pot, add soaked lentils, water, turmeric, and salt.
- Boil on medium heat until the lentils are soft and cooked thoroughly. Mash lightly to make a creamy consistency.
2. **Prepare the Tadka (Tempering)**
- Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
- Stir in ginger-garlic paste and green chilies; cook for a minute.
- Add tomatoes, red chili powder, coriander powder, and a pinch of salt. Cook until the oil separates.
- Add kasuri methi and mix well.
3. **Combine Dal and Tadka**
- Pour the cooked dal into the pan with the tadka. Stir well and let it simmer for 5–10 minutes.
- Adjust the consistency by adding water if needed.
4. **Finishing Touch**
- Add garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with naan, tandoori roti, or plain rice.
