You Take it From Here – Part 2

By Pastor Gary Wayne

Review from last week: We watched while God worked, then we did it together, Then He watched, now - As we are stepping into this new year, I feel God saying, I have taught you, now go – you take it from here.
I’m not alone, He is right here with me, but He is wanting me to exercise my position in Him.

Rom.8:14 Message Bible - God's Spirit beckons. There are things to do and places to go!
I asked us to individually be involved in something like spiritual mapping.
Choose someone to pray for every day. Choose a block, street, or an area to intercede for and commit to covering that area in prayer everyday as one assigned by the Father for “such a time as this.”

Text: Isaiah 54:1-3
Ver.2 – “Enlarge the place of your tent.” – Why enlarge your tent?
For you and me, where is the real place of our tent? Between our ears.
As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. (Pr. 23:7)

With this, I also feel God telling us the instructions Jesus gave to Peter in Luk.5 - Launch out into the deep to drop your nets.
Do you remember Peter’s knee-jerk response to Jesus’ instructions? We’ve already done that – “nevertheless…”

Stepping out in faith is not walking in the absence of doubt and fear, those voices are usually there.
But regardless of the voice of doubt & fear, I continue to exercise faith.
I can recognize the presence of that voice without giving credit to it.
It’s there speaking, but I’m not listening.

You are an answer to someone’s problem.
When the children of Israel were in slavery in Egypt, God raised up a person. Moses
When the walls of Jerusalem were in ruin, God raised up a person. Nehemiah
When the Gospel needed to be spread through the world, God rose up people to share the Gospel wherever there were people in need.
God’s answer is a person in place doing the next right thing.

Jos 14 - Caleb said, "give me this mountain” Who’s idea was this?
Mat.14 - When Peter asked Jesus to let him come to Him on the water and Peter stepped out of the boat, who’s idea was it?

Jesus never rebuked Peter for the stupid idea – after all, what did he think he was going to accomplish?

Psalm 2:8: "Ask of Me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession"
Matthew 7:7-8: "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you"
Jon 14:13-14 "And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. "If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”
Jon 15:7 "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire…”,

I feel God saying: "Ask Me for those hidden dreams that I've planted in your heart. Ask Me for those unborn promises that may seem unlikely to happen in the natural."
Ask Me to do what you know the Father would do if He were in your situation.

Think in terms of God placing you where you are for a purpose.
Why does God have you in the city where you live?
Why in your neighborhood?
Why in this church?

Ephesians 3:20-21 “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
