Easy Pork Stew Recipe: Simple Ingredients, Big Flavor
Pork stew is a hearty and flavorful dish that can be made with various ingredients. Here’s a simple recipe for a delicious pork stew:
Ingredients:
- Pork meat (about 500 grams).
- 3 medium carrots, chopped
- 1 or 2 onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or lard
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 teaspoons ground red pepper powder
- Canned diced tomatoes (approximately 400ml)
- 2 bay leaves
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a large skillet, heat the oil or lard over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until the onion is translucent.
2. Add the carrots and sauté for about 10 minutes until they start to soften.
3. Add garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, being careful not to burn it. If you prefer a spicy kick, you can add a diced jalapeño or chili flakes with the garlic. Adjust the heat level based on your preference.
4. Add the meat to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper.
5. Add 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning and adjust the seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed, 2 bay leaves and 3 teaspoons ground red pepper powder.
6. Add about 300 ml of homemade tomato sauce or canned diced tomatoes.
7. Pour in enough broth or water to cover the meat and carrots (approximately 400ml).
8. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, cover, and let it cook for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
9. The meat should be tender, and the sauce should thicken. If it gets too thick, you can add some water.
10. Serve the dish with cooked rice or pasta. Both options are delicious and can be complemented with grated cheese or fresh herbs, depending on your taste.
