Rep. Whitesides Urges Californians to ‘Get Out Early’ to Avoid Dangerous Wildfire Evacuations

Scott: “Just hearing those evacuation orders has to be terribly difficult. Some of those canyon roads are quite narrow, not a lot of room for cars, and if everybody is trying to get out at the same time that is got to be very difficult and even dangerous.”
WHITESIDES: “Yeah, it is really a nightmare scenario. I have friends in Mandeville Canyon and other places. This is a very difficult situation. That’s why it’s so important that people get out early. There is no reason to wait, get out early. There’s no reason to wait, get out so that you can let the fire professionals do their jobs so that the fire professionals do not have to risk their lives to save yours.”
