Plant of the Week - Ice Bloom - was offered between January 11, 2025 through January 18, 2025.

Ice Bloom is a member of the Winter-Mint.
Ice Bloom costs 200 Sun. (-25 Sun at levels 3, 6 and 9.)
Ice Bloom does 200 damage to all zombies in a 3x3 area. (+50 damage per level.)
Ice Bloom does 50 damage to all other zombies on the lawn. (+25 damage per level.)
Zombies which would be defeated by this will be turned into Ice Blocks. These Ice Blocks will be able to absorb 200 damage. (+50 damage per level.)
Zombies which survive this will be frozen for 7 seconds if in the 3x3 area and 5 seconds otherwise. (+1 second on levels 3, 5, 7, 8, 9 and +2 seconds on level 10.)
Zombies will then be chilled for 8 seconds if in the 3x3 area and 6 seconds elsewhere. (Durations go up per level.)

Commentary:
Ice Bloom is a really good stalling plant. Frozen for 7+ seconds and chilled for 8+ more is nothing to sneeze at. With a recharge time of 15 seconds, which decreases to 10 seconds at level 10, this plant can keep the zombie hoard away from the house for a long time. This should be more than enough time for the player to implement whatever strategy is desired.

Bottom line:
We're not sure why this plant isn't played more. It works great in the early parts of a level to improve the Sun production. It works great at the late stages of a level to handle a zombie horde.

Just don't play this plant on levels where you can not lose a plant.
