Some new mothers might feel broken, defective or like bad people for not being suffused with joy every second they're with their baby. They shouldn't. Postpartum depression of varying degrees — from a general malaise to acute feelings of hopelessness and frustration — affects enormous numbers of women worldwide. Serena Williams has talked publicly about it to give other moms strength and support. You should, too.
