Analysis:
To begin with, we are allegedly dealing with an 18-20 Kiloton variable yield device, from
1994. Acquired via the transfer of Nuclear weapons from Ukraine back under Russian
control. The size of this device alone rules out a tactical Nuclear Weapon (also stationed in
Ukraine during the Cold War) but also matches the range of early fission weapons and the
specifics of a Multiple Reentry Vehicle (the predecessor to the modern MIRV, Multiple
Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle technology)
This has led me to determine we are dealing with the internal Core and Primary of a
disassembled SS-18 Satan (NATO designation) Russian R-36. The Pit (core) of this weapon
being approximately 2-3 inches of fissile material (Plutonium, Uranium) in diameter,
surrounding the core would then be High Explosion (HE) lenses to initiate implosion and
compress the core to create the Nuclear fission reaction to produce the subsequent
detonation.
This then would make the primary (Pit and HE lenses) 18-24 inches in diameter.
When we then include the tamper, reflector, initiator and other components or casing, we
are left with a device that would be easily described as fitting a large suitcase or small crate.
(As I mentioned the out of sight box in our prior discussions.) Taking into consideration the
operational parameters I would need to defeat US radiological detection and deterrence, I
would thus need a crate approximately 2 1/12 feet long by 2 feet wide by 2 1⁄2 feet tall at
maximum.
These parameters fit with the Intelligence of approximate weight of device and shielding
required to complete mission objectives. Coming in just under three hundred (300) pounds.
