Today, we are honored to welcome Dave Roever, a true American hero and inspiration. Dave’s incredible story begins in South Texas, where he grew up in a minister’s family. During the Vietnam War, he chose to serve his country by joining the U.S. Navy as a riverboat gunner in the elite Brown Water Black Beret.
Eight months into his tour, Dave’s life changed forever when a phosphorus grenade exploded in his hand, leaving him severely burned and hospitalized for 14 months. His journey of survival, recovery, and resilience is nothing short of miraculous.
In recognition of his bravery and service, Dave was awarded the Purple Heart and several other honors, including the Outstanding Civilian Service Medal by the U.S. Department of the Army. He has dedicated his life to supporting military personnel, speaking to troops around the globe, and inspiring others with his unwavering faith and perseverance.
